The new Nvidia 8800 Series video cards are out now ...

Post by genblood »

If you have a few hundred $$$ hanging around you can purchase
a brand new Nvidia 6800 GTX or GTS series video card. I've read
the reviews and the specs are very impressive.

I figure in a few weeks, the prices will drop alittle I hope ...

The specs are good, but the overall numbers say, the 6800 GTX
is faster. If you have 2 of these puppies in Sli ... it's VERY ..
fast ... at $660 a piece ... it's very pricey ... for pretty graphics
tigerdirect is selling them now.

Now they are just confusing me, I thought that normally, better numbers meant it was better...

Now they are annoying me :?

Aww... Whatever, I'll drop back in the groove next time I need to upgrade...

Heh, it's definitely pretty cool. Personally I got kind of used to the tech market improving by leaps and bounds, but I always love to read a new tech demo article. The CUDA features are pretty cool too.

I'm gonna wait until laptops start to be made with Geforce 8000s before I get mine. Cos GeForce 8000s are cool. And they should stay non-obsolete for pretty long.

aren't true quad AMD's due july august? With 4x4 AMD set-ups with twin dual core cpu's due earlier?

I'd think by that time a conroe quad core would be cheaper/faster than a specialized 4x4 motherboard, twin opterons and a hefty mass of support......

Personally I am an ATI fan even though I have a 7900gt..... 8800gtx is all very nice but I want to see what ATI's r600 chip has to offer.

Geforce 8 is the fail. R600 ftw. Can Nvidia honestly face down ATi now that ATi have AMD tech?
Reports from ATi Indicate that the R600 beats the Geforce8 by quite a lot :O
