Problem it's kinda hard to draw the keyboard approximately the same as the keyboard the user actually has (qwerty/qwertz/azerty/ with/without numpad etc.), and the nice layout doesn't help at all if your keys are on totally different places (a simple list could do fine in that case tbh).

That image also misses out soem vital keys, for example on UK keyboards there's ~# key that's missing (that bit where the return button jutts out) and |\ (where the left shift just out)

I think instead a populous style encyclopaedia with an index and a content pane would be much much much better as then basic tips from the modder can be added, and it provides a gateway to adding basic option panes for stuff like mini map enemy allied colours and the tie ins for shadows and that trepan wrote for console...

An ingame encyclopedia would only need cover the very basics of working the mod and would end up as a tdf file in the mod archive.

besides the same could be said of unti statistics, afterall if you double a units hp then you have to change health= in its fbi?

But a IngameEncyloädie would take Time to search & find. It is shurely usefull - but this Screen is just a Help to get your first steps done. Simply to add, simply to vannish when the Encyplopädia works fullfilling all wishes. Take it what is AF. This is no - No-Ency-Feature-Request - this is a Request for a in-between Sollution, till better things are there, tested and implemented.

In lack of a better way to explain - It is better to have the Sparrow in the Hand, instead of having a Pidgeon on the Roof. The Pidgeon is still the Target, but you have something till then.

"Besser den Spatz in der Hand als die Taube auf dem Dach." Wobei das nicht heisst das da nicht noch Tauben kommen.

I'm not saying there should be a 500 page encyclopedia, more like 5-12 entries in the largest mod encyclopedia with say about 5-30 words in each entry. This post has 33 words.

stuff like rreclaim or d-gun would be usefull too.
of course, that would also not work with custom layouts. hm.

I love the idea, but indeed the issues Tobi said would have to be overcome.

It's reclaim because of repair.
