Idea: Intelligent whiteboard. At its most basic level, it marks stuff for you automatically.
For Example: If it sees an enemy building, it affixes a label/dot along with the name of the building. Possibly the most immeidate/useful. Its a compromise between showing the enemy buildings' location full time once they are revealed for the first time (other RTSs do this) and not remembering them at all.
Bit higher level example: If you have a large army on LoS, it automtically marks the last known location of that army, so even if its gone out of LoS, your personal marker remains.
Discuss.

what if there was a tactical map you could pull up, it would have the unit groups, the locations of sighted enemy buildings and units, it couyld show know enemy activity as like red fog in the general area, you could have a button that would select scout plains if you have any so you can quicly order scouting missons and other buttons to quicly select groups of units you have set up, it would be like what the comander would use to comand his armys, if your comander gets blown up it goes away, more motivation to keep your comander
And so people would always play over the iconic tactical map instead of the regular view. Just use the normal view with the L filter, build adv radar to see red blobs in general area of enemy activity, and press Ctrl 1 while the plane factory producing peepers is selected to always have scouts in group 1.
Well we keep going back to the same discussion over and over again. So now we only have to send a peeper in the direction we 'THINK' the guardian or bb comes from. You don't even have to look at it or search for it, even if it's hidden behind a gasbag or a tree or anything. It just gets marked automatically and all units that can hit it, will start to hit it. Jolly, the game plays itself.
Suffice to say i'm no big fan of the idea. All these make it automatic suggestions take away the skills a good player has to have to play a good game.

For me, the player should give ALL the instructions. I don't like IA taking decisions at my place.
It's the decisions which should differenciate player, not the appbility to watch his plane to see if there is a bertha and at the same time build something and clicking every where. (that is my definition of Strategy)
A good player is a player wich could make a lot of good decisions per seconde :)
Being occupied with one unit when we have more than 100 is just odd
