Textures00, 01, 02

Post by PauloMorfeo »

In the mod TLL, like the old TA ones (XTA), i see lots of textures named like:
Logo00
Logo01
Logo02
...

Where the models are connected to the name "Logo" (example).

And they all seem to be exactly similar except for the color. I guess that that is legacy stuff from when we had the limited amount of player colours which doesn't really makes much sense now that we define our own colour from RGB. Having all these redundant textures takes up unneeded space if they aren't necessary. What should i do? Just copy the ...00 one, none (it will probably complaint about not finding it!?)? ...?

If i should do something that requires something more complaicated, please just say so and i will just arrange something.

I've read it. I'm not just posting questions without looking for info. I've been reading and searching the wiki alot (and other source). I have read lots of times the Custom Explosion Generator section before posting and without fully understanding it, for example.

And i'm sorry but i still don't know exactly. From that description, it looks like they are solely related to team colour, which doesn't really makes much sense now that we can choose whatever team colour we want from RGB...

Hi!
What exactly means "except for the color"? Did the colors are changed from the original order?
Maybe here we find the hint for the only blue and red teams that appeared ingame when other colors are choosen  :?:  :?:

Those textures are exactly the same, at least the ones i've been seeing. With the exception that they have diferent colours (00 all red, 01 all blue, etc, for example).

And there are no longer a "order" for colours. In the lobby, you just choose the colour you want from a RGB picker to be your colour. That is why i'm doubting that those textures## are of any use anymore.

Make your mod with S3O, and you don't have to worry about this ;)

From the mighty Spring changelog:

- Adds support for using arbitary team colors, teamcolor textures for 3do need to be slightly changed to accomendate this (see the base texture archive to see how its done)

So i guess you could take a look there :)
