Grenade & Mortar

Post by PicassoCT »

Does someone here remembers the Grenadelauncher in the Adventure Outcast? I would love to see such a Thing beeing fired by a TA Unit - it had this genious "Charching" Effect, that realy made you feeel the Power concentrated into it, before beeing fired. I know it is just a Request for Eyecandy... but hey why not throw some sweets into the Masses ?

Sorry they didn`t had a fitting screen.

Yeah, and it had those Grenades.. i bought that Game, just for that charching thing-- it raised that tension... and all of the sudden, you began to ask yourself, if this thing would really fly far enough.. it played with humans fear, from unknown engery sources, charching up... The What if made it possible to imagine "Hiroshima in your Hands"!

Until voxels are accelerated by hardware, there's no way they'll be compete with polygonal based games. That being said, it does look interesting ^_^

The game's from 98 or 99 (dunno). Compare it to 3D titles from back then.
Okay the maximum resolution was 512x384 but... it's still pretty and got almost realistic water. :-)

Also the flamer was pretty stunning...

Sigh - yes the Falmer was great - but the Grenadelauncher was even greater.. the Stones flying away, the Fire.. this Charching... eeeeEEEEEEEiiiIIIIIIIIIIIIIHHHH- Click - UUuuuuuuuuUUUUUH -> BOOOM

You never forget this, every other"realistic" Grenadelauncher looks powerless afterwards..

Am I the only person who has seen the Unreal 2 flamethrower? That thing was the best looking flamer in the history of ever.

Am i the only one who liked U2?
They really couldve made more out of it, but i liked it, esp. the defend the base in the desert one, popping up turrets and hoping for the best..

The best level was the spider killing one. Ever tried beating it with nothing but the pop-gun?
