XTA v8 Release

All new and shiny XTA v8! Thanks to KnoX and all others involved!

Check out the new and updated Unit Guide!


Download one of these:
[list][*] Automated installer for Windows
[*] Plain SD7 (mirrored at Unknown-Files)
[*] Plain SD7[/list]

Changes:
  • Fixed automatic firing of Dooms Day Machine and Annihilator
  • Several new effects added
  • Different radar-icons are now implemented
  • Various balancing tweaks
  • Fixed AI/naming errors
  • Renamed to "XTA v8"
Read up on all changes here: *** If you have downloaded a previous version of XTA v8 (XTA.sd7),
*** please delete it since it is no longer valid nor used.

Well, because it's still got some issues I hoped that got solved before a 'final release':

* The arm nuke silo doesn't have a nuke icon.
* The arm and core commander icons are unintelligible.
* I thought aGorm was working on new loadscreens to replace these ones.

Well yes, Colorblind. But you wouldn't categorize those issues as show-stoppers, would you?

But a Dooms Day Machine or Annihilator that isn't shooting, pretty much can be.

So, let's stick to this as v8 and take the pressure off from everyone's shoulders to give the time for a even better v8.1 :-)

I just used this "Final Release"-phrase to better stand out and distinguish from the former v8 release...

Ok, but please make sure to also fix these issues:

* Set the building icons tag "radiusadjust" to 1
* Change the icontype for immobile water units (such as floating metalmakers, etc) from "sea" to "building".

Well I did streess I was on holiday till monday...

I'm sure my screenies will make the next release. Guys when do you need them by??!? Thursday? I could have them all done by thursday evening I rekon.
