Twilight Canyons .:Release:.

Post by Forboding Angel »

A ReMake of my map Canyons. Completely new look, and different design. Kbots/URC will no longer be able to run rampant over the canyon walls.

Download here: http://www.unknown-files.net/index.php? ... &dlid=1868

Full screens available at unknown files:

Cool with a double -ool.

I like the moody sky, and if it has the same blowyupy gameplay, then I'm sold.

That texture is really really beautifull!!!! Great job there.

Can you please remove those trees and palmeto's though, they look horrible out of place.

cool, gotta download this one.
Canyon_Redux was one of my favorite maps.

But now that URC can't get ontop of the hills, how are they going to defend against GD dropping stuff there? The GD transport is level 1 and can be teched to quickly while the URC transport is level 2 and also requires a medium mech factory (I think)

And yea, the plants are strange, would'nt they grow in the valley and not on the usually very dry top of hills?
Maybe place them around the three hills in the middle so it looks like an Oasis or something.

 Wow. Your Maps make me scream for a StarshipTroopers Mod. And - why dont just open the TextureFile of the Tree and take Saturatione down + a brown layer on top -> that way they should look dry and would fit in perfect. Sorry Knorke, FA Don`t do that Oasis thing, the Map is good as it is..

Also like the Sky-

Well gee I dunno, lv1 ground attack ships, mortors, mortor cannons, etc

Noize, quiet about the features mmmk?
I like them the way they are. IMO they fit in perfectly. Exactly who said that the tops were dry? I'm pretty sure I never said it. My world, my rules. 8)

Cool. Yeah the palmettos are a little bit out of place but they don't ruin the map, they fit in the color spectrum.

lol how are the palmettos out of place? Havn't you ever played vegan canyons? It's the same map!

All that is different as far as the "Spectrum" is that I changed the atmospheric settings to be more of late evening/early morning (whichever fits best in your mind).

Hm yea but the attacking GD mortar is on top of the hill while the defending URC is in the valley, so yea..
Also GD can get several hill-mexes in the beginning and URC can't do that much about it..Even if they can kill some, they can't get their own hill-mexes on the hills until they have T2.
(I played quite some games on Canyon_Redux and there it was quite balanced, maybe already a bit on the GD side)
Dropping over the hills already used to be very effectiv on this map and now I see a big advantage for GD there.
Exactly who said that the tops were dry? I'm pretty sure I never said it. My world, my rules
omg its teh evil anti-gravitiy water that flows uphill!

The vegetation is not that great (CenterRock from the XIceXdude was nice) but it's no big deal..

This is how the trees and palmeto's look on my screen. they should be darker, but perhaps it's a bug or something...
