.PNG's little screw up...

Post by Snipawolf »

I can't believe this.. PNG Doesn't work with layer masks....

Arghhh!
It deletes my texture, or my layer mask, but it doesn't stay with either...

I am going to use Targa.. At least for now..

I don't care about preservation of space.. Buy a new harddrive then, mine is 3-4 years old and I still got 60 gigs of space..

Edit: Cooled off some, but another reason to be pissed..

When in 3ds the mouse goes every which-a-way..
When in s3o, I can move the mouse and the object actually comes with me..

Arghghhh..

Use dds instead of pngs or tgas. By the way I'd keep the PSD or what ever format GIMP uses source files.

Save to the gimp's builtin format, XCF. Then keep those forever

More understandable? You made it sound like you had no backups. And yes it's true that you can't see shit if you got the alpha channel in place. Edit source files, save as DDS, hit reload in Upspring. That's what I do.
