However BF2142 is not the first game to do this and it won't be the last. So either u guys get over yourselves and buy games with advertising in them or things are gonna stagnate.

Yeah, sure. Bite me, I'm not buying that and I don't believe any excuses they may have like games are getting too expensive to make or crap like that. If they're getting too expensive stop throwing millions at celebrity endorsements and crap like that! If you're adding ads, reduce the retail price in return. But no, they expect us to be nice little consumer whores and eat that right up.

Quake Team Fortress, of course! speaking of which, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars is coming soon so no need to buy BF2142.

That's one thing I've been looking forward to a long, long time. Is it going to be free again or commercial? If it's anything like ET then it's probably worth the bucks.

It will most likely be commercial. But since there isn't any spyware and the guns on the human side make pretty noises, I'm taking it.

Nah ET is totally free. And it's fun even though I hate WWII games just for the sake of it. Fausting can be so much fun 8)

Am I the only one who thinks the word "spy"ware implies that it's secret, while what EA's doing is properly informed about?

It's still spyware, they only inform you about it. Just think about how many people skip the EULA (like me)...

Well, if they're yelling loudly all the way that they're coming, it's not much of a sneaking attempt.

I skim the EULA, if I catch anything suspicious, I abort..

Spies don't do well like that, but people say "Meh, Who cares.. What are they gunna do to me.."

Which is what I say, too.. So, I don't care if this game has spyware.

You think they would be if people hadn't started making a hissy?

I refuse to answer that question.

I was just saying that calling this "spy"ware was a bit odd. I won't give my opinion on if EA shipping the game with a warning about this functionality has any relation to earlier public reactions about Battlefield 2142's in-game advertising.

Wait Wait Wait. EA has enough money to buy the moon as it is, So why is it by simpley PLAYING THE GAME, EA MAKES MONEY FROM ADVERTISING?

And apparantly, if you do own the server you are playing on, you can't turn it off. Wow, Thats great, My server is bogged down with ads that are 200 years out of place.

Its madness. Bunch of selfish jerks, they don't even makes good games with the money they get. I hate EA. They Killed westwood and then crapified CnC. (Face it, Generals sucks).

Even worse, BF2142 costs MORE than other PC games.
