Ive got to add that the honey is made of win tho. We have a local beekeeper here that we buy honey from, the honey is made of golden sugary win.

I am deathly afraid of bees, and even more afraid of wasps, and even more afraid yet of yellowjackets, and even more afraid yet of hornets.

In other words, put me in a room with a hornet and I'll probably go completely insane and curl up in the fetal position in a corner and start gibbering and crying. I'm serious. I mean, I got the creepie crawlies just writing that.

We own a very large beekeper supply store ;)

And have lots of hives ourselves - but bees dont like me

One small note why wasps are even more annoying than bees:
After a bee stings you, it dies (cause its spike has a hook and thus the bee can't get away without detaching the spike - and with it vital parts).
A wasp can sting multiple times in a row, cause its spike doesn't have a hook.

bees

My dad is a lawyer, but when we had a farm in South Africa we kept bees for a bit, on weekends.

we had about 30 hives before about half of them were killed by waxmoths and I helped my dad take the frames out of the hives a few time. my mother and father would uncap (or whatever it's called) the frames and put them into a centrifuge extractor. That room was full of bees. I got stung a few times and it really hurt but no big deal. it was the best honey I've ever tasted :D

Well, perhaps if it wasn't potentionally fatal I might. Would be unwise to keep bees when your allergic to them.
But they are interesting to watch, very sophisticated for an insect.
That goes for the ancestors ants, as well.

I like ants; I can sit and watch ants just going about their business for like half an hour.
