Regard the AIs (JCAI, OTAI, SAI)

Post by Reth »

I had been thinking about recompiling/redistributing these AIs for spring 0.73b1, not just the changes involved in the AI interface but also any existing bugs in the source.

I'm guessing that it should not be a problem for me to do this since these are all open source, but also I would like to know if anyone is in the process of doing this already, and if the posted versions are the most recent, specifically, JCAI is V0.24 on the wiki but seems to be v0.22 in the Spring Source.

Just in case anyone would have a problem with this, I had wanted to ask openly before acting.

SAI was taken up by the TSI team, and they ended up writting most of ti again from scratch.

So you can tick SAI off of your list.

OTAI 1.13 is the last public release, btu ti si not the newest version. 1.14 is a big update and it seems to ahve now become vaporware. Your best asking veylon about it via email. Expect a long wait however, as he doesnt have brilliant internet access.

JCAI is sort of outdated by a very long time, and needs rewritting from scratch....

Instead I bid you to go search for q-man and his AI documents and attempt to finish QAI. It was a very promising project with a very fast paced development. But Q-man simply vanished after a week.

Last QAI I could find seems to be v0.03, I didn't really think of this one since I had never seen the working copy and the post at fileuniverse said 'Does not yet support attacking/defending'. That all isn't to say i'm not willing to, though someone would have to find v0.04 for me, since I failed to and it doesn't seem like messaging QMan will do any good considering he hasn't posted for over half a year.

Though, my intention isn't really to pick up on one of the existing AI projects, actually I have already started my own. But I had not been working on it too much lately since I hadn't really worked out the theory half of what I was going to write. So I was just taking a break for that and thought that I could bring back some of the existing AIs.
