How much modding experience do you have? (Total time you have been modelling, texturing, scripting.. Pretty much modding in general)

Two months more or less, creating content for spring that is. Begun serious modeling about 3 months ago. Have no real modeling/texturing experience.

Started around 1999-2000 (if you don't count some nonsensical fiddling with OTA data files) but was a slow learner and didn't do nearly as much in that time as most serious modelers do. I've seen people go from zero to game industry veteran in the time I take to even reach mediocrity.

Ehh... First public version was maybe 5-6 years ago I think... Well lemme see. I originally had AA hosted at my site for Hegemonia... so that would put it in 2001... but I'd been working on it for at least a year...

About 7 years I guess.

Hmm... when did I get TA? About 99? Darn, I have no idea whatsoever. Started fidelling with everything from basic data changes to scripts to even some modelling (which none of you will ever have to see, so you can stop shaking) not to long after. I'll just have to go with about 6 years, give or take 1.

12 people have little modding skill or none, and 19 people have decent abilities... No wonder my mod is going so slow...

Little doesn't mean they're bad at it. :P
/me self-praises himself, twice.

If you'd count messing around with several dozen of different games as well then it's 10+ years. But it's been manipulation and minor tweaking, nothing big in the end.

Though you should've seen my very first attempt at modeling back in '97/98 (can't remember when). I just got the Corel Draw 6 package (yeah, eww!) to christmas and started messing around with... err... Corel3D? No idea what this thing was called and made my very first MadCat (or Timberwolf if you prefer). It wasn't that bad, had a lot of affinity with Mickey Mouse. And roughly 3000 to 6000 polygons, yeah that program sucked.

I know, that applies to myself with my 3 months or so modelling experience, if I can get the idea and paint a picture in my head, I can have it done in 30 minutes.

Made serveral 'mods' for C&C red alert (rules.ini stuff)
Mader serveral maps for C&C RA
Have done mapping and bit modding for Half-Life
Have done mapping for Soldat (and made custom explosions)
Have made serveral maps for earth 2150
Worked on Mod for Serious Sam Engine (unRexen co-op mod)
Worked on second co-op mod (CCCP, or C3P) for UT2k4 engine
Worked extensivly on add-ons for board game of D&D

so if altering rules.ini counts as modding (i added new weapons, and altered most of the existing ones, added new units and sounds).. i have been modding for 10 yrs ?

What I meant with tweaking. I once made a tank which was so emo it shot itself. Ssome broken settings on a missile weapon made them do a U-turn after some distance.
