Why do you mod?

Post by Snipawolf »

I mod because I HAVE to know how things I use work... Some sort of instinct driven need to learn..

Questions asked that eventually led to Modding:
1. How do people make video games?
2. What the hell is going on behind the game?
3. Could I possibly be good at making a game?

And thats what led me up to TA: Spring and modding..

Why do you mod?

Because nobody else can be relied upon to make a good, enjoyable game. So, as always, I have to do it myself.

I dunno, Nemo has done a pretty fine job cleaning up the balance mess you left AATA in and turning it into 1944 ;) :P

Because I like to make stuff and watching it in motion and making games and mods is a excellent way to do this. And nobody seems to understand and make things just the way I like it, therefore I have to make it myself. GC is an excellent example, as i simply craved to play something Heavy Gear related and Hg1 & 2 simply were not exiting any more. Plus large battles ftw! :-)

This is why I stuck with modding.. If I didn't want to make something blow the hell out of something else I made, then why mod?

Hahahahah.

Well, Actaully, If you did, I'd probebly ask to take over development tbh. I'd hate to see AA die.:O

Because:
1. I like putting stuff into games.
2. I wanted to test some ideas out.
3. I'm an attention whore.

But mostly the third.

Well the reasons I am a mapper can also be applied to modders as well. (And most/all artists in general I guess).

* Creating content is fun
* Watching that content in action is fun
* Watching other people enjoy the content as well is fun

Ololololol

I've been playing AA for about 5 years now. I'm not exactly likely to suddenly ruin it by adding 999 units no one uses, and then make it shitty by doubling the costs and halving the unit speeds or something.
