TASClient window permanently minimized

Post by jackalope »

I'm not sure how, but my TASClient window is permanently minimized. When i right click on it in the taskbar to do restore, it seems to go through but the window does not reappear. This occurs even after installing a new version of Spring to a different directory.

[EDIT] UPDATE:

I tried to completely uninstall Spring, then reinstall. I also downloaded a program called Auto Window Manager which lets me manage the size and location of windows. After reinstalling spring I still don't see the TASClient window pop up even though it is running. I then move the window to the center, open it up and all I see is a black box and the window is unresponsive. However I know I am connected because if I open another instance of the program it says I am already connected.

[EDIT] UPDATE #2:

Ok, I went through the registry manually deleting anything related to TASClient. After that and another re-install the problem is fixed.

Mine maximizes larger than my screen and hence has some issues. Any ideas why?

Odd resolution? If it resizes in a set ratio (16:9, 4:3, 5:4, etc) that is.

And it doesn't exist on the task bar in wine. Very bad as it has to be minimised to not eat up CPU. Probably doesn't affect Windows at all, but it's still a nuisance.

so..

I've got the same problem and will now try deleting all TASpring related files out of the registry. It's a stupid bug and I have problems with minimizing and (over) maximizing too. Hope you can fix it.

bye,

The wrath continues, i was about to report the same bug jackalope/bhaal had but found this topic:) This is a stupid bug...needs to be fixed, reinstalling doesn't help only deleting registry entrys...

Ironically, i think it started doing that to me after i got kicked from a game Bhaal hosted when i was spectator and he wanted no specs: after being kicked i could see the battle window, but no spring lobby behind it o_O.

Deleting registry entries for Spring/TASClient seemed to fix it for a lot of people.

On another note, having deleted registry, uninstalled spring, THEN deleted what was left of it - all that is required to completely get rid of spring (almost like a virus), i tried connecting to fnord.clan-sy.com when i finally got lobby to work again (i thought main host was still down) and (possibly) crashed the spring server...or by coincidence spring server crashed at exactly the same time, as i modified the "connect to" option whilst it was pending a connection in the background.... strange.
