Another water/land map

Post by mufdvr222 »

Hope to have it done soon, comments welcome, I don`t plan to add visible metal to this map, both small rivers can be crossed by land units and metal will be distributed fairly evenly throughout the map
size = 16 x 16.

My impression from the screens is that there isn't nearly enough metal.

Put some more metal patches on it.

Edit: and if you want it played, you probably ought to use visible metal patches.

Yes, more metal.

But other than that, the layout looks outstanding! I wish i thought of it!

Well you see; thats the problem I have, if I put visible metal patches on the map players still want the auto metal view enabled which completely defeats the purpose of having visible metal,, so, whats it going to be, If I add visible metal patches I will be disabling "auto metal view". 8)
As far as the metal quantity goes I would be more than happy to add more, but I want to see more people request it.

You'll have a hard time getting people to request it if they don't try it because it sucks because it doesn't have enough metal.

As for visible metal patches, people want to know where the patches are without switching views, and when they are placing a mex, they want to think as little as possible. Hence, the autoswitching.

Hmmm, I can`t agree with that assessment :wink: but if your willing to give me an idea of how much more metal you think it should have I will add it :-) along with the visible metal patches, FYI there will be two patch types "with regard to metal output" the larger will be about 2.3 per mex and the smaller patch will give about 1.5 per mex.

Basically, just scatter them all over those islands. What you want to accomplish is forcing the player to expand to get their metal, while after they expand, they have a decent metal income.

Much better metal layout. Could you also show us where units can cross the rivers and such?
