Probable not, you can carry the weight of a person on your back like that no problem, even on the stairs. Look at his face in that one frame- he doesn't seem really happy to be there, so I bet it's not bluescreen. Besides, bluescreening would be pretty obvious in that situation, I think.

I agree this is a low tech movie, and low tech blue screens are obvious. Therefore no blue screens just stop frame animation.
