I have the following question: Which ports do I need to open within a router to be able to post a game?

It's not a case of which port as which protocol. To access games, as long as they are not using nat traversal then you do not need any port forwarding provided you have NAT that supports UDP. Ultimately you don't have to do anything.
To host a game, forward any unused UDP port. I strongly suggesting only forwarding a port above 4000 the higher the port the less likely it it to be used by something else. Take a note of the port you forwarded then when you are hosting a game set this as the port to use. The option is presented when you click host game in the same options dialog that lets you pick number of players and mod. If you are doing this, do not use NAT traversal, NAT traversal should not be used if you have a port forwarded.

Why is it that I have springs defualt port forwaded and still can't host then?? Humm? And I dont see why my network would not have UDP support, it gives you UDP and TCP and all that as options. It's so annoying taht I have forwarded the ports on every protical and it still don't work.

First make sure you have NAT traversal set to none. Secondly try packey sniffing with ethereal to determine the problem.
Also even though it's the default, if you change port spring will remember it and use that in future. Double check that the port set is actually the same as the port forwarded. also check to see if you have windows firewall turned on or another firewall, also the modem/router may have a firewall installed.
