I had this happen to me earlier too, not sure what build. I figured it was a one-time thing but here it is again. I'm not sure what's causing it, that's for you developers to have fun with! :-)

Can we make ti so you cant place start positions on a location if your starting unit cant move there according to the blocking map.

Many tiems peopel start in water positions onyl to find there comamnder cant move as the mapper has voided out the water as a nogo zone for commanders.

A prime example is delta siege

As you may have noticed, I included not only a video of the bug but also the steps leading up to the bug. No, that wasn't just there to pimp AA, you might also notice that I selected the most well-known map in existence and did not select custom starting locations.

Stuck on a tree.... :roll:

What you can't see in this video is that after maybe 10 seconds or so of moonwalking, he goes on to do exactly what I asked. Fraps recording time limit, what can I say...

On DS, comms can start in water just fine.


But yes, that is a good idea :P

I don't think it's easy to tell where the unit can go (if there are two enclosed areas on the map, which one should be used?) but it's easy to tell where the unit can be built.

I've seen it before in svn, with some maps (River) where you spawn outside the map (or on the extreme edge) or on top of the AI opponent. You could get out of this by switching to fps camview and moving your unit away.

Caydr, i've had that same problem, and it happens to any unit, espeically cons. They get stuck on a tree and can't move. most of the time I end up reclaiming the tree and its fine.

I've had this happen to combat units. And it's not just trees - they get stuck on wreckage too.

In this case, though, he's not stuck on a tree, it just looks like he is because of his shadow in one shot.

There's no tree. There's no wreckage. This is a brand-new game on small divide with the default starting locations. I even zoom in to show that there is nothing that could possibly be obstructing anything. Show me this phantom tree/wreckage you're talking about.

this one even i can explain :P

i mostly see this with either units flying to an area they cannot traverse over, and get stuck, or the get nailed by the worst (IMO) feature of spring: pushing

if you have a moderately sized swarm, and they go through an area littered with wrecks, you will probably get some stuck
