Praise for new weapon FX system

Post by Caydr »

This new weapon graphics system is spectacular. I've already used it to great advantage for the next version of AA. The graphical improvement is too much for words. Things are so flexible now that I can really make a weapon behave and appear exactly as I want it to.

So I just wanted to say thanks for this great new system. My only gripe is that standard (pulse rather than beam) lasers can't take advantage of the new flares (and other things?).

At least pulse lasers respect their duration tag now. I think the beamcore and such are used for pulse lasers as well.

I'll second Caydr on the point about flares. I'd really like to see custom muzzleflare textures for all weapons, tbh... but hey, one step at a time...

Anyone has access to "non-public" builds if you follow the instructions in the sticky in this thread. Its basically just a website that you have to access with a special program; then you compile it like any other C++ program. Very handy ^^
