You don't need to get a DX10 card now though, just make sure that the laptop has a PCI express slot.

Oh, and btw, why are we supposed to avoid Dell? Through extensive research, I have found that Dell has the highest performance / price ratio for mid end gaming/media center laptops. And that will go up if / when they switch to conroe from their current whatever-dual-core-CPU-intel-made-right-before-conroe

Just out of personal experience. I know 4 people who bought Dell notebooks, they've all given them back. Noisy, heavy, lousy battery life, horrible finishing, packed with preinstalled crap that nobody needs. But that was 3 years ago, maybe they're better now?

Take solace in the fact that for how fast laptop X goes, you can buy or build a desktop PC that is more powerful and/or cheaper, always.

Way more bang for your buck than Dell. Shipping times are usually not quite as quick as Dell in my experience, but the machines are powerful, cheap, and the support is actually great. I currently am running a top-of-the-line NP5950 and it's just awesome. That being said, SLI MAY be overkill for TA Spring, I am beginning to suspect that it might actually run better on just one GPU rather than two after having played with some settings.

Gaming and Laptop do not go in the same sentence just yet, despite what any marketing hype might tell you. Give it a year or two.
