First, I'd like it if I could completely turn off sound effects. My soundcard is somewhat broken and hangs for approximately 5 to 10 seconds everytime it's initialized by a windows app for no apparent reason. And I'm getting annoyed by sound effects in general :)

Secondly, the possibility to filter join/part events only for specific channels (e.g. #main). I'd rather leave it off but for the main channel, because of all the spam it causes.
