Ok, I made simple test build which shows enemy units as triangles.. if you want to test it, take it here http://licho.info/download/spring.zip

I tried that idea with cross too, but it was not visible in default "zoom" it's not visible. Shapes have to be very different to be visible.

I also made second test with borders. http://www.licho.info/download/spring2.zip

In second test aircrafts are triangles, buildings squares and mobile units circles.

If the unit is only visible by radar (no direct LOS) it's circle.

This is how it looks with shapes for unit type (square building, circle mobile unit/unknown, triangle aircraft) and borders to dicern enemy from allies.

this is how it looks if enemies are only detected by radar:

Minimap has default size on those screenshots, I think that it can be like that - you can easilly tell enemies from allies and unit types..

Would diamonds be useable for ships?

And crosses were used in TA to denote nukes (actually, any weapon with the cruise=1; tag)

Yeah, that nuke missile thing would be good add!

Didnt remember that in TA we could see incoming nukes in radar :)

btw. it's a bit offtopic ... but it would be cool to see stars above the health bar for expirienced units.
