To be honest I really think that the pavement's the right thing for arm. And core should have metal (as in core prime).

Pavement, but without the borders in the previous image so they blend together better.

Just a comment: but the core groundplates look like borg stuff leeching on to the planet and assimilating it.

both teams use nano spray to build structures - the decals were a kind of random modular stuff under the buildings - functional and metal. you don't want your krogoth gantry subsiding after all

Turrets, like the HLT are often build on hills or cliffs...ground decals might look strange there?

I don't know, it might be cool to have some sembalance of a ground decal going up the side of a hill and sputtering out... like an outpost of civilization.

whatever it is, keep it simple, so that when it stretches (on cliffs etc) it'll look good.

Arm should have a bed of freshly cut roses under their buildings while core should be mired in the shit of a thousand whores.

but maybe I'm biased towards ARM :P

I think those decals are too visible, they completly hide the ground below. It looks like bases are made of lego blocks. I wish you made much much more discret decal. Buildings being built directly on the map itself makes the engine more impressive than having them all built on their little grey square, IMO.

I think this is a good point to be made what zwzsg said

however - i tihnk it should be same for Core; that is the solid CP'y style that completely covers ground. Arm should havem uch more "eco-friendly" decal that lets shiny ground shine through.
