I dunno what everybody gets hot and bothered about. He's just not able to communicate very well, and is easily frustrated, and desperate for attention. It must suck to be as old as he is, and have very little ability to communicate with anybody about what he wants to do, let alone understand why what he's building doesn't work. He obviously gets the tone of people's comments, but lacks the understanding of English necessary to grasp the full meaning. Therefore, a sentence meant to express minor annoyance or sarcasm flies right past him. We're supposed to be angry about this?
This post is a pretty typical example of what's going on here. Emmanuel mainly wants people to read what he's saying, and then respond. This isn't a whole lot different from any other community, but the format of a Forum is not exactly realtime, nor can we communicate subverbally or with any intonation, so a lot gets lost. I am pretty amazed that this sort of thing doesn't happen more often around here, given that many of the developers don't speak English as their primary language, and we modders are from all over the world as well.
Compared to the people we get here who have a very good grasp of English, are supposedly adults, and yet persist in being as totally obnoxious and deeply insulting as possible, he's a minor irritant at worst. I find his attempts to insult people to be funny, rather than a violent assault on my psyche

I have to agree with argh. While emmanuel's actions certainly aren't always appropriate and are sometimes annoying some of the reactions to him are borderline racist. I have to try, but with a few exceptions I've been able to read almost all his posts and most of them aren't nearly as bad as the small minority of posts that seem to have everyone riled up about him. He's been much better about it in large since I warned him, and I'd appreciate the slightest bit of understanding of the issue.

Emmanuel is, intentionally or unintentionally, the funniest guy in the Spring community.
it apers hte fun is a gaol to reach for the majority of this communauty
and be helpfull constructiv or honest seems not be funny here...
i supose lot of people are young kids fanatics and paranoids like politics or fashions groups and hav fear for taspring "security,integrity and glory
i noticed that too=>
1 some people are older than me and seems work for ota modding when released in 1996
2 none hav mastered the ota/taspring tags nor scripts
nor codders nor modders :prob by the taspring release maps with gravity=130 when sight problem for balistic is not yet fixed
none seems to care about it ...very revelent of the "ant" work here where all push in all direction and look for an chang with a great fear than fall back of spring in the endless hole of universe...
for all this i can understand and accept but not aprob this permanent threating against my positiv mind about taspring project

Well, the least you could do is translate entire text blocks of your french to english instead of iterating through it word by word which results in gibberish usually.
I know that you often mean things in a different way (or I rather hope you do) but the humourus part gets lost in translation I guess. Anyway, you'd be less annoying like some other people if it weren't for this little communication problem. about taspring "communauty" =
i remind a post from a notorious worker :"don t change the taspring engine code because i must revrote my (personnal)mod at each release..."
i m very impressed by this recurent type of mind
where the personnal"fun" is more important than the engine quality
i can understand the use of bad tag syntax for compatibility
but in some times ,half of taspring will be unusable under ota
.fbi stay compatible with usless added lines
but i don t know the result of the new tags in scripts for ota
(if someone link me one of this i will test)
new scripts,new 3d,new textures and new picture are unusable
why keep compatibility ?
is all old material are so precious?

is not really a mod but a test for weapon with new design style model3d
i try to fix fps seems be bad scripts
but no syntax tag tutoriels(min/max values and related to other tags)
30time per day i pack drop test and retry again
i have found corect balistic values for 45angular to max range &hole related to explod radius
