I would love the opportunity to make your team color show up in more than just the units.

I'd like the ability for team color to come out in shield colors, lasers, and beams.

Imagine the Annihilator beam being green because that's your team color. Or your shield (on full strength) being a shade of pink (higly invisible due to alpha) but taken from your team color.

This way the major lasers and beams in the game can be changed to use the color of the team. Or not, it's to the option of the modder.

Similarly, a tag in relation to this could be used as a variable in place of a color.

For example.
shieldgoodcolor=team;

or for my Annihilator example:

rgbcolor=team;
instead of
rgbcolor=0 1 0;

This marks the very first request I've ever made... wow!

I'd be for it. Uhm, but I still want to control the saturation, lightness, and transparency of the color of my laser beam. Hey buggi, I thought you were one of the few people around here able to actually code in C++, not a requester of feature!

I might be able to do that btu hue saturation etc si beyond me and I have a huge list of stuff already so its a no from me.

Perhaps Yeha can do it? He's been fumbling around with the weapons code adding bits here and there.

I am a programmer. Currently working on a program to manage all these features. So I can't very well work on features AND the program to make them all available to modders. :/

There is a learning curve when it comes to Spring code... much like the nuke parabola recently mentioned as the nuke trajectory from SupCom...
