TA:World Domination

Post by GrOuNd_ZeRo »

I know I heard many people who wants TA:WD ported to Spring, but right now I have to wait till a more definite version since TA:WD uses many projectile type weapons and helicoopters wont work very well either.

However I did some limited tests with TA:WD units in Spring and they work fairly well, the .Gaf file conversion is tedious though.

So Spring WD wont be released until a more definite version of spring is released and some models will have to be adjusted, infantry will probably be updated to have more detailed models ;)

1. Stick all the gafs in the textures/tatex folder, and a gafdump.exe
2. open a command prompt and navigateto your TA/textures/tatex directory
3. run 'gafdump -b' from the command line
4. delete .gaf and .exe from the folder

5. Give us some pics!

Triaxx really needs to get a better Video card in time for Spring's Skirmish launch. It's got to have one, or it's going to lose a lot of people.

Don't try using other program than Gaf Dump, other program might name .bmp incorrectly.

Dump the .bmp into a /UnitTextures/tatex/

Transparent texture done with color index 1 not transparent in Spring.

Thx FLOZi

I can now debug scripts from the inside:
Image

Save that the very script I use in that unit aren't supported, so I can't load an UnitID by loading an unit, and the aiming refuse to let self be jammed so I must press S right after A each time I use the menu. And a the slope reading script doesn't work, and lots of other things too.

It also appear that animated texture aren't supported, but I'm not sure because as soon as I activated the Wormhole my tank started rising in the air at high speed.

Thanks Flozi! will do...

Fortunatly, the only index 1 textures used are flares which don't show up in Spring (yet?) i'd like to have a way to scale of the flares though for tanks and such...

Well, it gave me an error, it said it couldn't fit all the textures in a 2048*2048 image or what not, meaning I had too many textures! is there anyway I can fix this?

It still runned but many of the units were missing textures :P

Try removing OTA textures (if you don't use them)?

So when it comes to the number of texture, Spring is more limited than TA? How inconvenient!

Trust me, we will get TA:WD for spring! :)

I might have to cut down on the amount of textures used, I might get rid of unused CD textures in the main spring texture files, i'll find a way :D

Heh, Thanks cant wait!

Yeah. I would guess you cut down on some textures. Even thought it may not look the same.
