Who killed the Electric Car documentry movie thing..
Its a very interesting document on how many things are corrupt in society, and why electric cars arent sold today. It looks at both sides of the story and tries its best and does very well, you can watch it, you should watch. I do not want to spoil what its about but its really educational and somewhat important to know.

This, of course, illustrates the problem with giving the government the sort of power that would allow it to consort to kill off anything.AF wrote:government and oil companies consorted to kill of the electric car to save profits.
As far as I'm concerned the oil companies are in the clear, though: electric car takes market share away from regular car -> less gasoline sold -> less oil sold -> less profits for oil companies.
The entire purpose of an oil company is to make the greatest profit possible for its shareholders; to do otherwise would be irresponsible.

Once the oil prices start doubling every month and become unbearable for the consumer, we'll have no choice but to invest in finding other sources of energy and developing other ways of consuming energy. And that probably includes electric cars.

This happens all the time though and ahs been going on for decades if not centuries. Have you nto wodners why light bulbs have lasted similair amounts fo tiem for the last few decades and then all fo a sudden new lightbulbs are brought to the market that last longer? Even though there are enws reports such as the one about the light bulb that went out despite continuosly running for 70 years? The entire purpose of an oil company is to make the greatest profit possible for its shareholders; to do otherwise would be irresponsible.
Hundreds of ivnentions have been bought up by bigger companies for the sole purpose of being eradicated in the name of profit. Longer lasting lightbulbs, batteries, new types of feul, allsorts of new technologies that threaten to destroy the monopoly a handful of companies have.
The only reason biofeul is able to progress is because of the invention of hybrid cars that can run both biofeula dn normal feul and the positive publicity from brazil. That and the fact such engines run best on a mixture fo biofeul and conventional petroleum.
Electric cars cut oil comapnies out of the loop, putting the power in electricity suppliers and along with ti the money. They recognised electric cars would gain government incentives and thus used their government links to prevent a nose dive in oil consumption in the west. Also eb aware many people in high places in America are very involved in the oil business, for example G.W.Bush owns an oil company in texas IIRC
