it was not so horrible to handle. I even have problems with Trees & Geos, Type already. Why not make A Ingame Feature Placement Request at the Developers Thread ? I can imagine having the Features Turned and build inside (with a ConPlane) and then Render a Bitmap out, and the Filestructure.

Interesting Idea...

Hard to implement though... maybe someday :(

well.... maybe I stand corrected...

just make the features "buildable" with a mod or something I guess.... might be even harder than just picking points with the bmp...

Had a game of XTA on this yesterday. Very enjoyable. The spires blocked alot of jethro fire which made things interesting.

I'm still not crazy about the metal layout though. The two lines between bases are a little close to each other. I'd rather a more Gasplant Plain type layout.

To be fair, I am using IE7.0.5450.4 beta3 which has script blocking, but it tends to block everything  So whats the best browser after Firefox?, any suggestions :-)

The features are extremely well done. Perfect modelling and texturing, blend nicely with the terrain. I just wish they were a little bigger, and gave more energy: In TA the nodes gave 250,500 and 750 energy, and were about as tall as Krogoth. Yours gives 200 E and are too small for me to really appreciate on aging computer where I have to play in low res.

The metal placment is too geometrical, it's:

Code: Select all

. | | .
_____| |_____

_____ _____
     | |
. | | .
And ingame you really feel the metal patch are placed amongst those line, and it feels unnatural, like if there were human-built roads or camps instead of natural scenery. Try to not place metal patch in such exact alignement next time.

It is also true that the map overall is a little bland, I wish there were a little variation in the terrain. You don't have to add large cliff or hill, but, you know, just a little something to make part of the terrain more recogniseable. For instance just a line where the elevation change a little, with a gently enough slope so units travel is unaffected, rare enough so you don't lose buildeable terrain, or small bumps here and there.
