Spring freezes

Hi!
I've got the problem, that always I want to start Spring, it turns the screen into black.

My system still runs properly in the background, but i cant control anything.

So CTRL+ALT+DEL shows no response and I can see the mouse moving.
I still can control the mouse, but I cannot do anything with it.

My system:
Win2k
ATI Radeon 9800Pro with Catalyst 6.2
Athlon XP 2800+

I messed a bit in the settings around, but with no effect.

HELP!
I want to play TASpring!!!

yeah, i know, that this is spring.

i just wanted to test the settings on a new computer and used the spring test.exe
