guys, stop crying about speedmetal.

It's going on my nervs now for months.
Everytime these simple and stupid comments about this primitive map...
If you don't like it. - DON'T PLAY IT. And stop going on my nerves with whineing all the time "speedmetal is n00b map" "speedmetal pwns ur m0ms ass".
Guys, I also don't play speedmetal normaly, but I don't whine. Just shut up and let these poor guys play the map, but just don't care. Don't be a stupid 14year old child. Leave them alone.

agree.

By now the point i wanted to make on this thread (that is not to whine about speedmetal, as swiftspear's own misleading title wants to make you believe), is already written down in my posts.

Either you got it or not.

So if anyone is interested in continuing posting further, i encourage you to read my posts, and to think twice about dr inferno's post before doing it.

Now that's hilarious.

In any case, Speedmetal is gonna remain whether we like it or not, be it on unofficial servers if you outlaw it, and there is nothing anyone(expect the Speedmetalers themselves) can do about it.

Me, I know what it's really about, see in every RTS community you have the cookie people and the banana people. In this community the banana people play Speedmetal, and whine that my maps have too low metal when they play them, thus giving them a legitimate reason to lose and quit half-way through the game. In other communities they play Tower Defense and Dragonball Z RPG v 11.01.

Now the only way you can beat these coo..err sorry, bananas, is by ignoring them, as they are not going to change for you and neither will you for them. Bananas can't become cookies any more than cookies can go cheese. Thank you for reading.

That's hilarious too. The world ain't black or white.
Just be more tolerant to those guys. Some of them might support the community in other ways.

ok as you lack brains, ill tell you.

This thread was about star noobs, and trying to find smart way to slow their creation rate.

to be honest, a ranking system soly based on ingame time is always going to be very inprecise. As long as there is no way to transfer ingame statistics or win/lose statistcs into a metafile for a client, there is no point in discussing this.

hm? its not a ladder rank system, so what you want to put into the equation is not needed for it.

However we can all agree that when the resources are too high, its either:

a: experts field (experts need no rank or want it)
b: poor on what you can learn about spring gameplay.

which beats the purpose of the time=experience.

While generating a better way of exp. ranking, dont see why not to talk about it.

others may differ.

You know you can change the title right? I only changed it because "oh snap" was a little nondescript.

How about an ignore system, wherein you can set the lobby to ignore hosts playing on certain maps?

There aren't that many people playing speedmetal in the lobby anyway, so what the hell are you lot whining about?

I'll play whatever damn map I want to, there's nothing you can do about it.

hm... i did tell you its not about that map we are talking about right?

Ignoring system is unnecesary complicated, and does not accompish the task.

The idea is you can minimally rely that a certain level of player, wont "just quit" when things get not nice and easy.

(and swiftspear, the idea is to show how "selfrigtheous" some admins of this forums are about the content posted by the users, so if you changed topic to misleading title, you at least will get the blame for it).

You shouldn't complain. The SM noobs used to be StarCraft players. They are flowing rapidly from battle.net to the Spring server. :P

TA revenged at last.

More seriously, the flow of newbie players, whci coincides with the high bandwidth usage of FU, is a good sign. It's the sign of a growing community. Rememebr, 2 years ago, the TA community was really at the end. And now Spring is giving it a new life. What better to expect ?
The new players will eventually learn to play more strategic maps when they get bored of SM. Hopefully.

Those sorts of newbies actually leave when they get bored, so its a shame that here bout playing spring was spent playing that one map that's so nonindicative of what spring is.

QFT, I ain't very good at spring, maybe I am, I only fight like 3-4 people I know, I am kinda anti-social :P

I am gunna start playing more and more people, til I can beat everyone!

I don't care anymore, just delete your SM maps, and don't play online games, I guess...

Quoted for truth.

Just one of the side efects of a poor design.

see your PMs -Administration

This is more of censorship, why he can have a hole offtopic post and i cant dedicate part of mine to explain to him how he is mistaken?

And candleman, this is not a police state, or forum, and what im doing is addresing an issue this admin provocated, so its not likely im to be banned. Also, please avoid being offtopic, as you break a fair good conversation thread.
