Just saw SeismicDistance and such tags on SVN; since ProjectileHandler was modified in addition to Unit and UnitDef, i take it that this is some property of weapons that deforms terrain independtly of unit damage/effects?

I think it a kind of radar wich spot unit in move, if the unit have a big mass, it will be detected quickly.
( I'm not sure at all )

It's a radar that detects moving units.

Its just another kind of sensor, it detects movement through the ground so it isn't blocked by LOS, but can only detect units when they are moving. And yes its only for ground units, seismic disturbance from aircrafts doesnt make much sense :)

Can we have a tag/script command that will send out a pulse of sorts, such as might be created by an extractor or something?

Oh yeah, the federation is soon to lose the hover truck as radar! and finally have it as a listening station!

If it was implemented as a motion sensor it would detect planes as well. Depends on what the mod is going for. Also what about units that hover instead of touching the ground, can we make those not emit a signal?

I'm a jerk, granted, but I have to agree - if it showed weapon impacts with the seismic size determined by the weapon's AoE, it would be bloody brilliant to watch a battle from far away.

You can already see explosions in areas where you don't have LoS.

Really? I thought you can only see explosions from your own weapons and explosions that are in your "aerial" LoS.
