Radar question (an dLOS question)
a) normaly if you see something on radar, you see the radarblip flying around the real target in a small circle.
Now my question is: can you increase the radius of this circle? I would need that.
b) i set sightdistance to 2000 and higher, but my unit has only a los of about 1000. Is this the max los, or am i doing something wrong? When i hit the L button, i see the 2000 area lightened a bit, but if something is into this area, i only see it on radar and not like it is in LOS.
thx

1) You can in the next release. Check http://taspring.clan-sy.com/wiki/CustomUnitIcons for details.
2) I don't know.
2) I don't know.
Re: Radar question (an dLOS question)
There definately is some bug with radar distances and los distances. Or maybe not a bug, but maximum specified ranges. Or then i am also doing something wrong because i have stumbled upon the same problem. Both LOS and radar distance is limited. Could this be fixed or are we doing something wrong ?Optimus Prime wrote:b) i set sightdistance to 2000 and higher, but my unit has only a los of about 1000. The two radars highlighted, the should-be radar ranges show on minimap but the actual ranges are shown in the picture.
There is also another question i cannot find an answer to:

What are the three shades of green ? The first is los, yes. But the second and third are both radar ranges ? or what are they ? If radar ranges, why two different shades?

i'd like this too - representing a unit's resistance to radar targettingOptimus Prime wrote:a) normaly if you see something on radar, you see the radarblip flying around the real target in a small circle.

Light green = Radar and LOShawkki wrote:What are the three shades of green ? The first is los, yes. But the second and third are both radar ranges ? or what are they ? If radar ranges, why two different shades?
Green = ariel LOS and Rdar
Dark green = just Radar
Normal = just LOS
Grey = just Ariel LOS
Dark Grey = Notthing
Light red = Jamed and LOS
Red = Jammed and Ariel LOS
Dark Red = Jammed and no LOS
E: forgot to put, Ariel LOS is where you can only see air units, Projectiles, and gfx like smoke and shields.
Light Yellow = Jammed,LOS and Radar
Yellow = Jammed, Radar anf Ariel LOS
Dark Yellow = Jammed and Radar
I THINK thats all of em and how they work. Is this on the wiki? maybe I should add it if all of this is confirmed.

That's right.
AFAIK it isn't in the Wiki; if you like you can put it in. Better put it somewhere in http://taspring.clan-sy.com/wiki/Using_Spring

Tried that on altored divide because i suspected the same. The radar tower got full radar coverage. however when i added the advanced radar tower the radar range was left short again and the los did not either grow bigger even though the advanced radar has a bigger los specified.SwiftSpear wrote:Flat terrain gets in the way. I'm fairly sure that if you put the radar on a mountain peak you get the full radius.
The radar was on the top of one of those big mountains behind your back at start, right at the edge.

Radar, radar range correct

Radar and advanced radar, note the radar range gets cut off and los stays exactly the same even though the arad has clearly higher los.
Why does this happen? Now it cannot be explained by the height of the point where from the ranges are calculated to match terrain and inaccuracy of that.
Note that the air-los grows remarkably when arad is built. Is the air-los calculated somehow from the los and radar distance ?
It is supposed to be 1820 for radar and 2600 for advanced radar. What it actually is i cannot say, since it seems engine cuts it at some point.unpossible wrote:is that LOS 1024?
edit: los currently is nearly equal to guardian weapon range, which is 1220, so your guess for 1024 seems possible.
Do you have a clue why this happens, is spring hardcoded for a maximum of los 1024 or whats going on here ?

Did you post in the wrong topic? This is a pretty standard issue bug report, nothing needing wikifying here...Dragon45 wrote:Prettified and Wikified.
