You haven't figured out that hypocrisy reigns supreme here?

Someone requests an optional feature to bring back a certain element from OTA, that gets flamed. Someone creates a new feature which isn't OTA enough, that gets flamed. Sense, logic, and decency have no place!

I think people are just stupid and don't realize that we run mods on this engine and robust functionality is good. There's no law stating that ever spring mod needs to use every feature.

I don't think it's a nice idea to get fuel for airplanes.

There is a reason why I'm sending air-fighter patrols out.
What if someone of your enemies is massiveing Brawlers?
If you have to land all refuel all patrolling aircrafts, it's getting a bit hard to get an air to air defence.

Maybe switch it to limited ammo.

Even harder for the offense, who would need nearby refuel pads for his Brawlers. Said pads aught to be in arty range...

Keep two groups of patrolling aircraft. Time it so that when one group is refuelling, the other is in the air

Did you just ignore the last 3 posts?

ITS NOT GOING TO BE PUT IN AA/XTA, ITS FOR OTHER MODS TO USE AT THEIR WILL AND IS A FAN_FUCKING_TASTIC IDEA.

in summary: yes, it would be cool to have this capability (plus limited ammo capability, maybe modified from the stockpiling system) in the engine. :-)

In addition, I'd love it if "IsAirBase" was changed to "IsRepairBase", and could be made unit-specific. Then we could have units flee from combat, drive to a mobile repair vehicle, get repaired, and return to the fight, instead of having to manually target "healers". It would be a greatly beneficial change and allow for much more varied gameplay.
Argh, I think it is possible to make a islandbase tag and then have mobile units go there for repairs also.

If one makes a unit with both tags the unit would repair both.
