Connections timing out?

Post by Neuralize »

Is there a connection timeout? My computer runs spring well, it just seems like whenever I host without the lobby my connectees always speak of something counting down, and then they get sent right back to the battleroom.

try reading the readme :/ . If your using a router you have to open some ports if you want to host.

actually, that's not the issue, if your spring doesn't load fast enough, people won't connect to you, the way around this is to tell them to run "spring.exe script.txt" from the command line after you're waiting for clients to connect... either that or you really just don't have the ports forwarded :)

Maybe it's the problem I was having: when connecting with some peoples' games, I would get the countdown, and at the end of it Spring would just close and drop me back to the battleroom. I'll try what you suggest.

However I have another problem: with some people, when I host, they can't connect and it says "error looking up host from ip". I tried it with and without typing my IP manually in the configuration box (I'm behind a NAT, with ports forwarded correctly).
