Is there an AI that can play this mod? RAI and KAIK don't seem able to and AAI just crashes all the time and I don't think has a config for it anyway.
(Note - I have no internet at home, so AI's only)

Re: New Release Plan
The main thing I have to say about your proposed release process fixes is that they completely ignore Spring's lack of testers . I'm still new here, but as someone new who came to these forums with the hope of reporting some game-crashing bugs I'd come across, I can hopefully give some useful input...

Re: New units in ba
Given TA was - and I'm guessing BA is - a strategic game, why should any unit need "micro"'ing? I'd call that a design flaw and buggy unit.JohannesH wrote:Bladewings are great. Many people dont micro them correctly though.

Re: "Encryption" / Access restrictions for music
DRM doesn't work because fundamentally you have to give the user the (encrpytion) key to access the locked (encrypted) content. It's even worse when the key is in an open-source product (i.e. spring).

Re: spring starcraft clan
Strategy = Telling your soldiers which island to capture.
Tactics = Which type of grenade and which type of ammunition those soldiers will use.
There really is a difference.
Personally I don't think SC is entirely tactics, but it's a lot more of it than many other RTS'

manolo_ - Ahhh, I have seen that F11 list. I'll have to play with it some more. Though downloading via the lobby is no use to me (no internet at home). Thanks moriarty: Have you tried moving UnitGroups to the bottom instead of the side? Used the shrink setting? I've not tried moving or changing anyt...

Some lua widget bugs/requests (apparently
Hi, I reported some XTA bugs which are apparently LUA widget bugs and should be posted about here ( http://springrts.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=19512 ). I've noticed some of them in BA too. A) suggestion - The "wait" button is nice and useful, but could it possibly be a "toggl...

are u using iceui? or some konf od areaattack widget?, please post the whole error-message here I'm using whatever the default is. I've not changed anything. double click on one unit type to select all units of the same kind within the screen or use the z-selector-widget I'm fairly sure I tried dou...

Re: Advertising spring
Don't take this the wrong way - I think spring has lots of potential and it's very nice as is now, but at the same time, I don't think it's even close to being "feature complete" enough for advertising. The predominant issues as someone new to it who is only playing single player for me ar...

Re: As a new user - some bugs and observations
Springrts.com is not really targeted at players (granted, it doesn't do a good job of making that clear), and can't really distribute content in the installer for various reasons (license, warez issues, size). With the link saying "download and play" - springrts.com does a very good job o...

Don't suppose there's a windows binary of it lying around? I'm happy to test, but I'm unable to compile.

Re: KAIK 0.13 Unofficial (Spring 0.79.*)
For my part I've noticed the AI doesn't seem to expand. It builds a few level 1 factories and stuff, fills the metal points etc but doesn't go for second level stuff, or even keep expanding its first-level holdings after a while, though it keeps producing attack units. Sure it attacks early and I li...

Observations/bugs/comments/questions for XTA
Hi, I must say I quite like XTA - it's just the least buggy mod I've tried so far and it keeps most of the TA stuff while making some funky improvements. Some points though: a) Bug - If I click "area attack" and select somewhere, sometimes I get LUA errors pop up in the console telling me ...

Re: As a new user - some bugs and observations
In the spring version I have, esc brings up a menu where you can select if you want to quit, resign etc. Pretty standard behavior. Yes. (well no - F10 seems to have become the default for bringing up menus in RTS', but anyway). Alt-F4 is a default for "quit" in almost all windows applicat...

Saved games
Okay, following my intial problems which have mostly been worked around, I'm at the point where I'm playing games. Because games are rather long-winded sometimes, saving is nice.... except when it has some issues. :-( a) I saved a game with Complete Annihilation. I was playing again three hard chick...

Re: Spring almost-always crashes
Possibly relatedly, but I've discovered that the AAI packed with the spring also always causes crashes if it is inialised. I say possibly related, because the error looks to be the same: [ 92] (7) G:\Spring\spring.exe(skirmishAiCallback_Unit_CurrentCommand_0ARRAY1VALS0getParams+0x13786) [0x0094CAB6]

Re: As a new user - some bugs and observations
You can control units via the minimap, so right clicking on the minimap is telling units to go to the point on the map. Making left click the "go to" button is illogical as left click is used for selecting units. No, I'm pretty sure right-clicking is telling them to go to the spot /under/...

Re: Spring won't start with bots under SpringLobby, Ubuntu 9.04
I had this (or at least very similar) behaviour and reported this too, though was told it was fixed in the newer spring lobby version which I downloaded and it hasn't happened any more. So try getting the newest spring-lobby.

Re: No fog of war option
Out of curiousity - is the fog-of-war supposed to be invisible? By which I mean - no visible way to discern which area is FoW and which area your units can currently see. In TA FoW areas had a light-grey mist. Is that in spring but just disabled in the mods I've tried? Because it'd be nice to see wh...
