Re: Original TA3D here. Screenshots inside and help requested :)

You can install demo files and some other third party resources from the stable repository: deb http://downloads.ta3d.org/binaries/linux/apt/ stable main If you have backup images from your disks you can also install resources files from it using the ota_resources_installer.sh script. PS: I've just ...

Re: Original TA3D here. Screenshots inside and help requested :)

I can play TA3D on my netbook (GMA950), it runs fine and there is a benchmark script which simulates a huge battle if you want to see that yourself. I haven't done much benchmarking with Spring so I can't really compare both I can only say you don't need killer hardware to run TA3D with most setting...

Re: Original TA3D here. Screenshots inside and help requested :)

Of course the external Lobby is still there :) I've just released a new version of 3DMEditor2 (with all required DLLs ... normally) with all the features I added last week (you'll probably be interested in exporting to S3O format which is what we're using for unit models) : ftp://downloads.ta3d.org/...

Re: Yay! TA3D reach 0.6.0. TA-fans are wellcome :)

Probably stupid question: Would it be possible to add Spring's Luaui to TA3D? :?: I just thought that TA3D has almost the same gameplay as Spring... If yes then TA3D's biggest 'problem' would be solved... Currently TA3D's in game UI is only driven by OTA data/interface, but TA3D UI engine is alread...

Re: Ta3D reach 0.6.0.

there is an ftgl binary for mingw32 shipped in the source tree (but FTGL includes are not) ... it is planned to add those headers soon (I don't have any problem with that on my Linux system but windows users do so let's integrate everything :) ) What did you have to fix in CMakeLists.txt ? There are...

Re: Ta3D reach 0.6.0.

There are several internal changes between 0.5 and 0.6, mainly 0.6 now uses SDL instead of Allegro/AllegroGL, soon FMODex will be replaced with SDL_mixer and HawkNL with SDL_net. Also it can be fully scripted : AI, units, game behavior use the same scripting interface (currently COB and Lua are supp...

Re: Yay! TA3D reach 0.5.0. TA-fans are wellcome :)

We provide a package containing the files from TA demo for Linux in our repositories (look for tademo) and Doors has made packages for windows containing those files from the demo.

Re: Yay! TA3D reach 0.5.0. TA-fans are wellcome :)

I have currently a few ideas to improve that water shader, mainly adding a height map texture to allow depth effects and having real waves :). In order to fix the squary look of the sun blinks I'll have to rework the model a bit ... it looks like a precision problem, and maybe this can be optimized ...
