OSRTS / Command Engine

Does anybody know what happened lately to command engine?
http://www.osrts.info is as dead as can be... :-(

Did this really interesting project die an early death in its infancy?

CPU speed display

I know this is probably slightly OT here but I consider this important: The fact that most players' client displays the cpu speed shows that most of them use a Windows user account with administrative privileges on their system. (I just assume almost everyone here is running Windows XP) If you're ru...

There are many more like him.
Just show the member list and sort by joined date descending, then take a closer look at users with a web page...
On the 1st page I count at least six possibly malicious users.

Just one simple client issue: Make double clicking a replay in the list do the same as selecting the replay and clicking "Watch".
Sounds very easy to do.

For me the NTAI (NTAI V0.2B2) does not do anything. Only says "Build location collision found" then the commander just sits there. I put the contents of NTAIV0.2B2.rar (a single dll named ntai.dll) in the folder AIDLL\globalai. Then I tried to play against NTAI on Flooded Desert. What's wr...

I also watched the replay of the aforementioned battle and was disgusted by the perfidy I was presented with in this game. There's no means against committing fratricide with crawling bombs. Using the Sumos for attacking one's ally by giving them to the enemy could be countered by the game not allow...

Interesting to see the mobile factory carrier can also be transported. On capturing an enemy's factory carrier one gets a friendly carrier carrying an enemy factory. After upgrading an already upgraded factory there's an additional empty carrier without a factory. If the terrain where a factory in t...

For me hosting games works fine. I'm on DSL and my ISP gives me a dynamic "real" address. I'm using a router/firewall running OpenBSD and added a port forwarding rule to its rulebase. Runs like a charm. Place the following among your redirect rules in /etc/pf.conf and you're lucky: rdr pas...

Idea for MiniSpring and network play

What about a selection when hosting a game to start MiniSpring.exe as engine instead of usual Spring.exe? Perhaps a checkbox next to the map selection dialog should be sufficient. Games that are hosted with this option checked can only be joined by players who also have minispring on their system. J...
