Re: Spring TA vs SupComm

Well, thank you all four your input, I was scared that this will go in flamewars, but didn't go that way. We play TA mods only, XTA, BA or NOTA, we were addicted to TA back in the day. And, his point is, and as big fan I am of Spring, I must concur, SC:FA looks a lot better than Spring, and it plays...

Spring TA vs SupComm

I am sure that this is done to death already, but I can't thrawl through the forum to find it... I am trying to convince one of my friends to play more Spring as opposed to Supreme Commander FA. His arguments are that SC:FA is more polished game, it plays a lot smoothly than Spring, zoom in and out ...

Thanks!

It has more to do with the way your scroll wheel works. Try zooming using pgup/pgdn...or swapping mice :P I did try another mouse, both usb and ps2, but the jerkiness on scroll continue. When I scroll down, i go directly to the grass, no scrolling at all, than I need to scroll up. It is annoying. P...

The mouse in question is Geinus Ergo 525, didn't have troubles with him with other games.

Well, I Installed Spring (latest) on other (shit) computer and the zoom in and out is smooth and quick.

This is driving me crazy.

Nvidia 6200 on Athlon 3000+ can run this game smoothly, but 8800 GTS 640 on Core2Duo E6600 can not. I have multi thread optimization turned off and latest drivers, btw.

Well, it depends on your graphic set-up. On my machine it is smooth and quick, and you can adjust it the way it suits you.

Back on Spring: ScrollWheelSpeed in registry it's what I was looking for.

There's also a button to zoom way out so that you see the whole map from above, but I can't remember which one it is (Tab I think...?) Aye, TAB it be. Used to be my most-used hotkey until I played SupCom... Now I've almost forgotten about it. TheHive, you know what I am talking about zooming in and...

Supreme Commander have an option to set sensitivity on zoom wheel (middle button), so zooming in and out on whole map is done in a second, in Spring there is no such option, no? When I want to zoom out, I need to scroll my mouse wheel about 20 times, while in SC it goes in 3 times maximum. Is there ...

I know where to find it, but which one is correct? Inverted or not?

On the zoom feature, i get the feeling that zooming in and out is done in steps, it is not smooth, and it's not quick too. Where to set that speed?

Zoom In and Out Speed

Hi all! I started playing spring, but I found frustrating speed of zoom in and zoom out feature. It is not smooth as in Supreme Commander. Is there a way to fix this? I played with mouse options but I can't find it... Also, should be Y axis of the mouse be inverted or not? Don't be harsh, I am newbi...

Try "/shadows 1 4096" to bump up your shadowmap size. Avoid grainy shadows if your card supports larger maps, ... Oh and if you're not talking about the pixellisation but just complaining that your shadows don't comply perfectly to the law of optics, well, I've seen much worse bugs with s...

Which mod?

Which mod is closest to original Total Annihilation?

I mean, unit balance, game play, in one word, TA in 3d?

Also, which AI for skirmish use? (not too hard, mind)

I can't get BOTA 1.4 to play on my pc, so I am looking for closest thing...

Thank you in advance.
