Re: Random WIP 2018 / 19

The concept has a lot of merit, could use some refinement but with random WIPS I'm not sure refinement is the point? :D
The three on the right look really pretty too. A bit of deviation in style between them (and green v.s. red colouring could use a pattern). But I like where you're going with this.

Re: relayhosts & spring-dedicated

From what I gather, the only reason you can't is because the current setup doesn't allow for it? Or, well, never being "I think no one's silly enough to try"? (Spoiler: I quite possibly am). Why do you say never, what am I missing? What would be necessary (however difficult?) Positives are always be...

Re: Autohosts operating non-downloadable engines

Closely related would be hosts hosting development versions. I think for the sake of the average user, these test hosts should be hidden – and an option added to preferences (or something) in SL for them to be shown. Would require an extra flag added to the lobby battle protocol, and changes to host...

Re: Access violation - Java AIs - win64

Hi I have a problem with the win64 spring 104.0.1-1390-gd493f2d. When I try to play with a Java AI it crashes and gives me an "Access violation" error. infolog.txt (for NullOOJavaAI): https://pastebin.com/CruMCv9a I also tried HughAI, but I've got the same result. I need this because I want to make...

Technically not sharing, then, but an effective way of keeping all your stuff in one place

Re: Luaui messed up

BA 9 requires Spring 103.
BA 10 should work on Spring 104

BA 11 is currently under development, I believe. For more accurate/precise details, visit BA discord here.

Re: External Server

Two possibilities:
1. Remember to register a new account. If you haven't registered an account, you can't log in.
2. The server occassionally doesn't let me in either. I'm not sure why, but usually if I leave it a few minutes, I'm able to log in again.

I also forced OpenGL 2.1 ... failing shaders The modern info-texture (metal/los/etc) shader overlay system requires GL3, you voided your warranty. Does it change anything if I mention that Mac never used the modern info-texture system, only the legacy system? This system has not changed since 103 a...

Re: Remove some native AIs?

Whether my progress trying to make Spring work with Mac has any significance is yet to be seen; RAI is the AI that works best on macOS. I haven't verified these observations on my more recent builds (I removed all AIs to save time) but KAIK crashes on game start, and Shard usually crashes 15 minutes...

Re: many small rooms > one large one

… it seems that dev's interests and player's interests just differ too much in this community. Let's remember that just because you're interested in something doesn't mean it's good for you. Let's remember all the struggles players have with SpringLobby/TASClient, and how often they get cursed. Let...

there are bigger issues I'm curious what bigger issues you're addressing – but that may be best discussed in another thread. LMAO 12 specs per… Hey Adolf, nice to see you in this discussion. Any suggestions on how we make this community bring in (and back) new (and old) players? And how to make the...

Re: many small rooms > one large one

There will always be restrictions in one form or another. Before this "ban" for example, the player count restriction was set at 16 players (due to how the lobby protocol works), but I did not hear many (or any) complaints about it! Your idea of 16 player max may be misguided – I very clearly remem...

Re: Autohosts operating non-downloadable engines

I didn't know this. Thanks for pointing it out. I'm a little reticent to shut down someone else's hosts without communicating them … especially being the only BA hosts. 2 of them seem to be used semi-regularly. I've reached out to Fabrice via discord and his [ACE] site. I'd prefer to give him e.g. a...

Only pool/ and packages/ are relevant, rapid/ is just a cache for what is available (local? and remote). It may be gremlins, but a couple ti...

Fabrice (seems) absent – he's occassionally around but not often. It may be wise to advise that he stops hosting BA, since they aren't used anymore.

I would be super happy to see a working MAC build for XTA and TA play. Please don't give up. I might also be able to help as I know how to code. Please send me an update where you are now. Hi LAN4, thanks! I'm rather stuck on the LoS/f4 metal map issue on the Maintenance build. The drawing for both...
