Reset GUI?
Under Ubuntu 12.04 I had to use the fglrx driver to work properly, but it no longer recognizes my card in 12.10. With the gallium driver, I get a bunch of GL errors, but it otherwise seems to work, at least for a while. Sooner or later though, I will do something that makes the textures all go haywi...

Re: Mobile builders do not use their full build distance
How about adding a smattering of logic? When ordered to build, if in range, just start building. If you must move to get in range, then go ahead and get closer than max build range. Preferably start building once at max range, and continue to close the distance while building. It has always bothered...

Re: How does the plasma shield work?
I'm pretty sure that original TA did add the shield generator as a downloadable unit.
It seems to me that most of the units either use lasers, missiles, or lightning. What specific units does the shield actually work against and does anyone actually bother using it in practice?

Re: Toughest AI for turtlers
It seemed to me that RAI was childs play, KAIK was at least a little fun, but still easy to beat, and E323 was HARD! I had to turn it down to NORMAL difficulty, and still had to replay it a good half a dozen times, learning from my mistakes and adjusting my strategy before I finally managed to beat ...

Re: linux and ati free drivers
I think my card was the HD 4850, and I've always run the OSS drivers without issue until spring. With the OSS drivers on Ubuntu 11.10, the grass and other ground clutter is flickery and the game frequently crashes. With fglrx, the whole screen often goes wonky at the start when I click on a build ic...

Re: How does the plasma shield work?
If it only blocks the yellow balls, how is that very useful? It seems like only peawees fire those. I thought in the original TA the shield had a certain HP and either blocked everything or took half of the damage until it ran out of HP, then shut down until it regenerated to like half way or someth...

Re: Walls - do they shield buildings?
So they don't block splash damage? It seemed to help a bit resisting bomb damage, but I wasn't sure. I also had a radar tower up on top of a bluff and sometimes long range missile units would manage to fire some shots up the cliff and hit it. I tried surrounding it with some walls and again, I thoug...

How does the plasma shield work?
Does it block certain kinds of fire ( what kinds? ), or just provide an overall damage reduction?

Walls - do they shield buildings?
There seems to be a specific build command to surround a building with walls. Does this actually do any good? Can't enemy units just fire right over the walls? Or do they block certain kinds of fire, or splash damage?
