He I just build a new computer and installed Vista on it. It's got a new-ish NVidia card.
Problem is, I start playing TA, and shortly after playing, the GUI turns all black, and there doesn't seem to be a way of recovering it.
Has anyone experienced this?

The newer ATI drivers introduced a problem where all of the UI elements would disappear. It seems to be linked to holding shift. If i could integrate an MP3 decoder/player into TA:S would they actualy includ e it? I mean an in game MP3 player would b the first step, then i'm sure it would be so easy to detect an attack and play from a list of tracks accordingly.
