|Description||on metal factions v1.33, some lasercannons get less range than what the weapondef says.|
start a game, spawn aven_magnum on a flat map and check the weapon ranges. It has a cannon and a lasercannon, both with 600 range.
Even after controlling for firing point height, heightmod and heightboostfactor, the distance gap persisted.
the lasercannon has 1533 projectile speed. Changing it to 100 elmos/s drastically reduced the range gap!
trying to override the gap on weapondefs_post by giving the weapon bonus range only seems to work in increments of about 50, which is close to the distance traveled every frame. Maybe this is relevant somehow.
desired behavior : like every other weapon, it should respect the range it's set to. If the issue is due to rendering constrains just offset the rendering along the direction.
