| Summary | 0000637: Commander "buildpower" gets weaker over time | ||||
| Description | When in long games the "buildpower" of a commander gets weaker and weaker. Even units with a lower workertime will build faster then the commander (in an M-Stalling situation) | ||||

extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence ;) replay, please, preferably with timestamps and descriptions how long should a construction take and how long it really did take. |

okay i made a little replay which demonstrates this bug, @ about 30 mins the bug is clearly visable. When the commander and a construction vehicle are "racing" to build solars. Sometimes however the commanders builds some solars quick, and then he stalls for ages on an other one. PS Download 070918-Comet Catcher Redux-0.75b2-0.sdf The first one is uploaded by mistake. |

Somehow I think it's normal, cause while stalling unit's with lower workertime use resources first, then comes all others! |
|
|
During a stall that's to be expected, a unit can only proceed with building when enough resources for one "nanopacket" are available, since slower building units don't need as many resources for a packet they get to make a packet more often. |

marking this as closed with no change required since it's just how Spring's economy works (units with higher build power suffer more when there are fewer resources to go around) |

This may be an issue with the order in which resource chunks are assigned. E.g. if the commander is always 'last in the row' it will surely build slower if the resources happen to be exhausted when the engine is halfway assigning resources to all builders. I can imagine that if the units are internally ordered like this: "commander, solar, mex, mex, builder," the resources produced by the solar and the mexes are always used up by builder when it's building something, so the commander never gets anything. If it is like that then I think this can be considered a bug, though a very minor one (esp. when taking into account the complexity to solve it...) |
