| Summary | 0005442: 103.0.1-531-g643a93c Azur3d unable to launch Spring | ||||
| Description | The player Azur3d cannot launch Spring past 103.0.1-529-gb68830c. Spring dose not even generate an infolog.txt. Here is their pastebin from 103.0.1-529-gb68830c http://pastebin.com/yNQqtank Here is the error they have when trying to launch spring with the chobby wrapper http://pasteboard.co/rwJsuxet7.png Apparently it translates to System.AggregateException: "at least one error has appeared." ---> System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception: "Access denied in target" I've attached a chat in case it is useful. | ||||

I may have implied that this bug occurs only when launching chobby, that is not the case. We moved on to downloading builds directly from https://springrts.com/dl/buildbot/default/develop/ to bisect the time at which the crash first occurs. |

[02:13] GoogleFrog: open it and add the line WorkerThreadCount = 0 [02:13] GoogleFrog: then try running 531 [02:14] Azur3d: No change can you ask Azur to start 531 from a command prompt and copy what it prints out? even if no infolog is generated the engine should get somewhere into the startup process before crashing/freezing. |
in windows it doesn't print stuff to command prompt, you have to do spring.exe > log.txt 2>&1 |
Was it on linux? Try chmod engines/version/spring file so that it has x permissions. |
was on windows - you can see the infolog has D:\ |
I had Azur3d do the test with logging as above. Log output: http://pastebin.com/Wrh6VyDp This is the entire log: "K„ytt” estetty.". Apparently it means "Access denied" in his language. |
I have no clue why that happens (permissions problem? antivirus protection?) or how it possibly relates to the changes in 529/530. |
for me it looks like spring isn't started at all: it seems the program which tries to start it has a bug -> no change required in spring. redownloading / extracting spring again very likely fixes this issue. |
