Summary | 0003855: Request to allow sonar to work like radar
Description | Currently, I think sonar works like underwater LOS: an underwater unit is visible if it's within sonar range and within above water LOS. So you can never have sonar blips for underwater units the way you can for units that are within radar but not within LOS. We want the sonar to work like under water radar, so that you can have three states: 1) LOS + Sonar = unit visible (or just LOS) 2) Sonar = radar dot 3) Otherwise no detection I know that this may be a big change, no free channels etc, but on the other hand, games become stupid when you can't hide a commander under water (it's just detected with a sonar plane). Same with undewater eco.
Steps To Reproduce | Load a sea map, /give commander to enemy under water. Make a seahawk (radar/sonar) plane, fly over the commander. You will see that the unit underwater is a commander and not just a sonar blip.

I have no idea what you mean. As far as I can tell the system already works this way. |

See attached screen image. The sonar plane can detect the commander hiding under water as if it had LOS on him. The commander should just appear as a sonar dot, like unit's that are on radar but now within LOS do. |

So you want every underwater unit to be automatically cloaked? I then suppose we would have an additional type of LOS which would be able to see underwater units but not onto land? |
