Summary0000342: OpenGL Fragment Errors with Latest Version of TASpring
DescriptionWhen starting a game, if shadows and reflections are activated in the settings it'll spit back these error messages.

"You are missing an OpenGL extension needed to use shadowmaps (fragment_program_shadow)"
"You are missing an OpenGL extension needed to use advanced unit shading (GL_ARB_fragment_program)"

Two versions ago, this didn't happen. It would work perfectly well. I have no idea if it's my drivers corrupting or what. System specifications are as follows:

GPU: ATi Radeon 9200 (128MB, 400MHz)
CPU: AMD Athlon XP 2000+ (1.67 - 2GHz)
RAM: 512MB DDR
HDD: 150GB Western Digital "Caviar SE"
OS: Windows XP Home Edition (Service Pack 2)
ATi Catalyst Version: 6.14.0010.6374 (English)
ATi Catalyst Version Date: 7/19/2003 20:26:47, 366080 bytes
ATi Catalyst Version Type: Final Retail

Before anyone says it, I understand the 9200 is an ancient card, and I understand my drivers are quite old. ATi's newer drivers appear to break older cards like mine, and I simply don't have the money to upgrade. The issue is that two versions ago, shadowing, reflections, and other such bells and whistles worked fine. Now, the game spits back these errors. For convenience, I am attaching a picture of the errors.

I have a radeon 9200 and it has always given these warnings (both spring .73b1 and .74b1) if you activate the shadows and advanced shaders.

That's interesting, because if I remember it was .72b1 that never gave me these errors. Does anyone know if it's a driver issue, or just an engine upgrade that caused it to require a better piece of hardware?

It may be possible it was an engine change in that the errors were silently ignored in earlier versions, and reported to infolog in version 0.73 and later.

But the only thing is, is that in the previous versions, it would show shadows and reflective units and everything, including dynamic water. These errors only cropped up recently.

I have a radeon 9200 and the effects you mention never worked on it (spring .73b1, .74b1), as there's no hardware support for them. Maybe you're mistaken?

.73b1, .74b1

it was before those that it worked.
