Let me guess... Windows 2000? XP fixes that AFAIK and the bug was SUPPOSEDLY fixed in 2000, too.

After the problem for w2k sp2 users was fixed, there appeared to be a problem with some sound drivers too. That has been fixed, so assume the next version works fine.

No, xp sp2.
I have played previous versions of spring no problem until a few months ago - then I stopped because of router problems(I was "not in sync").
Recently I tried again and -router problems solved- got this message.
I tried disabling my Audio Controller Driver to see if it did anything - didn't work.

Whatever, I guess I just have to wait.

You could try starting regedit.exe (start->run->type regedit), searching for the SJ key, and set SJ\MaxSounds to 0. If that solves the bug for you, then it has been fixed in the next version. If not, then something more serious is going on I'd like to know.

I changed "SJ/spring/MaxSounds" to 0 and it still didn't work.

same failure and situations as before

btw... I can run just the bare spring.exe, and I can run it with bots. however, once other people are in the game it errors...
i dunno if that helps.

Changed the code to be a bit less constraining.

In the next version, it will show a warning in infolog.txt and reset the FPU control word to the correct value. You then only have to pray no synced floating point calculations were performed while the control word was wrong, because if that's so you'll probably desync.

Keeping the bug report open because this is just a workaround, not a true solution.

Thank you. I'm dying to play.
