Summary0003250: With some gfx drivers, alt-tab hangs the window manager so that not even ctrl-alt-delete helps
DescriptionI have encountered it with ATI in full screen mode only.
Although I did not try it, I believe that if the process can be killed via e.g. the second monitor in a dual monitor setup, the freeze would be resolved. The question is if there is some error in Spring, or a pure ATI fuckup. In Windows 7 with latest ATI drivers it seems to happen much less frequently, maybe not at all.

Here is another report:

imo a driver / os bug... ctrl+alt+del should always work on windows.

I use NVIDIA GTX 480 with 301 Drivers on x86 winXP
in 0.89 it was doing that.
but now with 0.91 most times it works correctly (but only after the simulation starts, have to wait in the game until it starts, then switching to other processes works fine, and so does the returning. but switching before the simulation starts in 0.91 this still happens)
in the past (up to 0.87) when I had an ATI radeon 3870 I did not have this bug at all.
also in 0.91 the cpu usage remains low when switched (up to 10%), in versions before 0.91 it was 100%, sometimes more.

it's strange, for you it appears to be happening on ATI, but for me it only started after I changed to NVIDIA xD

Prior to june, I tested ATI4xxx + Win2k3 and all reasonably new drivers had this issue. Then I moved to another machine with ATI7xxx + Win2k8 and initially had the issue there also, but then after some gfx update it seems more or less gone, maybe happened once or twice.

Did not have any probs for a long time now, so I'm closing this under the assumption it was ATI fuckup.
