Summary0002081: Simultaneous crash of 80-90 % of players in game.
DescriptionA big game was going on for quite a long and then it suddenly just crashes taking down 80-90 % of players. Crashes like this seem to occur quite often (like 50 % of games) in bigger games with at least 0.82.5 and 0.82.3 versions. BA V7.17, 7.16 and 7.15.

Included some replays and infologs of a single crash example with Spring 0.82.5 and BA V7.17.

No idea about how to exactly reproduce the crash, other than perhaps included replay. Not sure about map dependencies or such.

Previous cases of such crashes have crashed myself as well, but this time didn't. No idea what causes the 10-20 % of players not to crash.
Additional InformationFiles: http://mithrandir.dy.fi/ghost/crash/

Crash replay + infolog from Axiomatic, Crash infolog from [pWnage]ruan, non-crash replay from [fi]Phantasm and replay from autohost. Unfortunately no replay from ruan and no infolog from [fi]Phantasm & autohost.

both translated infologs seem are equal (remember, they might be off by one line).

i remember someone saying that he did FPS control a unit before/at game crash time in this game. it was a crashing bomber. looking at the translated back-trace, this indeed seems to be the problem.

I'm thinking this is the reason: http://github.com/spring/spring/commit/8cbfafcb7a821fa587e0993ece875820827f359a

At first I thought it was this http://github.com/spring/spring/commit/bb0947d40e6a20bed6bb72e1a0e5b6ca64300c8c but then had another crash where it was apparent the playerControlledUnit value was not NULL. So I'm thinking this is some kind of side effect caused by myController being corrupted by the shallow copy.

We just "managed" to crash game twice. In both casees crash occured when an fps controlled unit was killed.
