Summary | 0002061: Spring.PlaySoundFile cannot set the sound channel used
Description | When using get PLAY_SOUND in cob, Channels::UnitReply is used, and there is a LOS param. The LOS control can be reproduced in lua, but Spring.PlaySoundFile always uses Channels::General. This means when using PSF for unit response / ambient or weapon fx sounds, those sounds are not controlled by the users volume settings for each channel. In short; It'd be nice to have a parameter to set the channel used in Spring.PlaySoundFile.

http://github.com/FLOZi/spring/commit/b93e3488b3b959ab8920280aa8fda7445639ab4d Addresses the issue but isn't really ideal, e.g. userInterface sounds are unlikely to have a position and velocity. Any thoughts on a better implementation? |
